One Dark Night

I wasn't sure what to paint.... and ended up painting this gloriously spooky little thing from a flash photo of my daughter dressed up at Hilda on Halloween night.

The Underpass

My Thing where something has fundamentally changed, Nature has turned the tables or the tides and we've got enormous shining beasties, some of which definitely would eat us, flying through the air.... but this time under a bridge. because the light and reflections are wonderful.

Swallow in Flight

8"x10"
sold

There's swallows in Huntington Beach State Park, and they are magical! In one observation deck a pair already had hatched their young and they were feeding them.... in the other observation deck there was a pair building a nest. this is one of the nest-building darlings.

Water Lily

5"x7"

I went to a botanical garden in Virginia, and they had those giant Amazonian water lilies in a pool by the greenhouse, and they looked like underwater monsters.

The Annunciation

20"x20"

While I was working on this one it became clear that they light in it was even more important than it usually is in a painting.... it has been so nice having the deer coming by the house lately, especially since they've been staying out of the garden nicely.

Looking Back at You

16"x20"
sold

Something that is new for me, but really it's the same story as flying sharks and jellyfish- a fundamental change in nature, and accountability for us humans.
