I tried to create something very dry and light, like really get the feeling of the shell. I don't know if I'm explaining it properly, I'm not a word person..... but I captured a little bit of it. Glowing by still chalky outside-of-shell.

The crazymaking thing about acrylics is that you have to really, really want those soft edges, because there's no way they'll happen on their own. It's worth the deliberate pursuit though.
