I seem to have quit censoring myself- if an idea asserts itself, don't you think it deserves to be explored? Even if- or especially if- it's strange and tricky to pull off, like this one :) There was a large raven in the parade at the Eno, and I guess that was the jumping-off point for this sketch. I just love how it came together!

So strange.... there's a parade every year at the Festival for the Eno, and one of the giant.... um.... puppets inspired this. The white background is pure white canvas, something I don't believe I've ever tried before!

Either way, I decided to rework this one.... the background is the biggest change, but I also did a lot of playing with her skin tones, and I really love the sparkles falling away behind her.

It has been a long, long, long day..... a good one, but no time at all to paint. So I touched up an older daily (changed the background and shadows to warmer neutrals and softened the edges, punched up the colors on the apricots themselves) for you :)

Red Shorts Red Rose here is a fun little daily inspired by someone who visited my tent at the Eno, and Squirrel Mask, which I wanted to share with you yesterday, is inspired by one of the people in the parade at the Eno.... just awesome inspirations everywhere.

Which I'm grateful for, because this has been the chilliest, rainiest summer ever. Kinda going crazy over here :-/

Today has been super frustrating. I have an art festival to do tomorrow, but I also had what I THOUGHT was a brilliant idea involving melting glass onto copper, but it was a total fail. So instead I painted on copper, and I am sooooooooo in love with it!

I've also had a big thing for cave paintings for a long time now, and this is inspired by a cave painting of a bowing stag in the Hall of Bulls at Nascaux.

so.... is fanart always a little bit sketchy? I don't know. I've always watched Supernatural, but I've become a little more obsessed with it lately, and the Sam Winchester character is absolutely beautiful :)

Anywho. You know I love painting these things, but after a while the full-frontal halved avacado.... there I go again, avOcado.... thing becomes something you'd like to try and break out of, but you're not quite sure how.... I think this works very nicely!
