Protection

sold
An egg, green glass, and the beginnings of a nest.... or is it the remains of one?

Eggplant on Blue

The same darling little eggplant as last night. I changed the perspective to emphasize that delightful roundness even more.

A darling little eggplant from the farmers' market, and a painting focusing on how delightfully round and shiny it is.

Riverbank

9"x12"
sold

This is my sister sitting on "Baptism Rock" which is an enormous expanse of sandstone on the banks of the Yadkin River by Boone's Cave. Also a whale shark peacefully flying downriver as she watches. I'm particularly proud of the light on the sandstone in the foreground.

Six Goldfish

9"x12"

Magic on a city street at night, a little school of goldfish clustering around a streetlight.

Salamander

Darling little polka dotted water monster floating in bubbles and magical greens.

Four Flamongos

9"x12"
sold

This was a group of the brightest flamingos I have ever seen, and they just had to be a painting.

Bather

5"x7"
sold

This spring when we were in Florida we saw a huge group of vultures, maybe 50 of them, bathing in the cypress swamp. I knew I had to work from that, and this is the first of those paintings.

All My Gaze

9"x12"

A tiny owl, indignantly fluffy, but definitely enlightened. With the light vibrating all around.

Greys and Golds

18"x24"

A beautiful set of draft horses, closely accompanied by a set of goldfish. I just loved the light, and the way the fish reflections find their way into all the shiny bits of tack.

And a friend for yesterday's daily painting. Slightly different colors and very different light!

Blue

sold

Pretty little parakeet. I don't usually use ultramarine blue, but it is the only one for this little bird!

The Last Poppy

5"x7"

Poppies are curious flowers, they have to shed a leathery blue casing in order to bloom. The contrast between the casing and the silky, crinkly flower petals is wonderful.
