Sorry I disappeared for so long! I did Greensboro Summer Solstice again on Saturday, and had a wonderful time. I'm now the proud owner of a tophat and everything. And I got many, many pictures of many beautiful people, and I'll be doing dailies of them for a while to come :)

My little girl, shining. This is something a little bit new for me, with the glowey stuff and the super soft edges, and I think I love it!

Fallen Hollyhock

So.... I had these hollyhocks suddenly appear in my yard last fall. I had no idea what they were at the time, but thought I might have put out some seeds and forgotten about them. Well this spring they started getting taller.... and taller.... and taller.... and eventually started blooming. Lovely black hollyhocks.

Once a bloom is spent it falls off, and I found this one sitting quietly in a leaf, almost like the plant was offering it to me.

Bird Goddess

Something new that I'm really excited about! I took sculpey and carved into it, and then baked it, and then added paints and such to brings out the lines and texture..... she is based on a carved bird goddess figure, perhaps a fertility thing, from around 4500 BCE.

A Goddess Sculpture....

or bas-relief or something. She sold yesterday, didn't even get a chance to photograph her properly! Love, love, love.....
