Dream of Flight II

9"x12"
sold
I love painting from dreams! I've been reading Jung and started paying more attention to my dream, and from there it is a natural step to start doing paintings inspired by them, right?

This might seem a bit random.... but I'm working through what I hope will be a really cool painting. You know, once I figure out how to paint it :)

And the other one- I am loving these two little slipper!
In case you're wondering, the blues in each painting are the pretty little slipper reflecting the sky :)

Candelabra

Ok, after this little bit of lovelinees we'll go back to actual dailies for a while, I promise :)
But isn't she adorable? I went to a friends' little girl's birthday party a while back and got beautiful pictures of the littles..... and got creative, obviously. I just love the atmosphere that somehow came through in this one.

Little Pig and Marble

More cuteness borrowed from the Little One.... I'm trying to decide if I painted the piggy differently, knowing that it has coins in it now. I feel like I did, but I can't point to anything tangible about it...

Little Orange Boat

Naomi is letting me borrow her toys for my dailies, and that makes me happy :)
It'd make me even happier if I could pull a few more days out of thin air.... but then I'd just start even more whimsical paintings, and end up wishing for even more time!

Wow, it has been a long day, and a long week! I'm happy with how this painting of Naomi's new little windup monkey turned out, though, and happy to be feeling better and headed to bed :)

Radish and Shadow

Back safe from the mountains! I was right, it was a very interesting, very very long day, and we are happy to be home :)
Also- yay radishes! They're so beautiful, it always makes me happy to see them come in at the farmers' market. And carrots. Carrots are almost as beautiful, and much tastier in my opinion. I'll have to try one of those sometime.....

White Chocolate and Raspberry Truffle

What is up with the silent "p" in raspberry? I almost always forget about it.... english is a weird language!
Also, *this* painting is going to have to count for tomorrow, because the Little One and I are driving up to the mountains in the morning, and hopefully back again in the evening. It should be a very long, very intesting day!

Chocolate and Caramel Truffle

Happy little chocolate..... feeling much better today! Hopefully all better by tomorrow :)

Teabag VI

I wasn't about to do a foodie daily today- the Little One and I either have a stomach bug or food poisioning, and haven't had a bite of food all day. Just water, and a bit of peppermint tea... ugh.
Still, I really enjoyed doing this one, especially all the detail I got to put in there with my Van Dyke Brown glazing and Titanium White detail work- very much like that head of garlic a few days ago!

Now if you'll excuse me, the sounds coming from the Little One indicate I'm about to do another load of laundry and stick her in the bathtub again :) Hopefully we'll both be feeling better soon!

Just because avacados are fun. Avacados. Avacadoes? No, that doesn't look right.... well, it's only half of one anyways :)

Shadow Side

I meant to share her with you yesterday, but I was gone with the little one all day and never even got a chance to turn the computer on! Had lots of fun, though, and of course took lots of photos, some of them for painting references :)
Isn't this the strangest little painting? I love the concept, though! I so enjoy when other artists paint people in day of the dead makeup, but it always seems to be grown women in exotic, slightly sexy costumes.... so here is a different take.

Eggplant and Reflection

My last eggplant painting of the year.... *sniffle*.... I'm already looking forward to it being summertime again!
No freezing temps here yet, of course, but it's gotten close a couple of times. Going to have to bring in the green tomatoes soon, and the rest of the basil. The raspberries are still happy, though, and I think my saffron crocuses will be flowering soon!
