Swallow in Flight

There's swallows in Huntington Beach State Park, and they are magical! In one observation deck a pair already had hatched their young and they were feeding them.... in the other observation deck there was a pair building a nest. this is one of the nest-building darlings.

Puffin Diving

I don't usually do such.... literal work at this scale, but I got to watch puffins diving after fish at the zoo, and they were so beautiful that I had to paint one!

Water Lily

I went to a botanical garden in Virginia, and they had those giant Amazonian water lilies in a pool by the greenhouse, and they looked like underwater monsters.

While I was working on this one it became clear that they light in it was even more important than it usually is in a painting.... it has been so nice having the deer coming by the house lately, especially since they've been staying out of the garden nicely.
