My daughter found this shell, which had broken off from an oyster bed. The underlying shell is an incredibly fragile, iridescent one and it had been completely covered in baby oysters before being dislodged by the storm and brought up to the beach. The patterns are wonderful.

I am delighted the hummingbirds are still here. They are so wonderfully bright in the autumn sunlight. This little fellow in particular is larger than life and very vocal.

Something I thought would be impossible to paint! I believe I will try again, I rather like how this turned out, although I might have to wait until next year.
