Curves - Purple and White

5"x7"
sold

I absolutely love how vivid these paintings are, the subjects just feel like they're jumping right off the canvas. I think it's a combination of the outlining, and the layering that's going in to painting them.

Blue and White

I had so much fun with this one! Finally got my courage up to paint the designs on a little saucer.... with a marble, of course.... and it's lovely.

Golden

9"x12"

Today I was sitting by the frog puddle, and one of the frogs actually came up to the edge of the water closest to me and stared at me for the longest time. It had the darkest eyes, with just a thin ring of gold.... and I decided to put those eyes in here. And do a few days experimenting with the same reference photo over and over, just to see what comes of it. So here's day one with her :)

sketching in the garden.

like literally. laying in the garden with the subject material bobbling around in the wind and ants crawling across the page. I loved it and need to do it a lot more often.

Germination

5"x7"

It might look like an acorn, but it's actually a lotus seed I sprouted to plant in my frog puddle.

Scattered Clouds

What a beautiful time of year to be painting.... and remembering what a challenge it is to paint clouds! They look all easy and forgiving, and then you get into them....

Fledgling

9"x12:

I think my style is going heavy with "paint what you know" with a bit of magic stirred in.

Spawn

The frogs in my yard are tremendously enthusiastic right now, which of course led to a painting.... I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Worn Smooth

I've had the beach on my mind for a while now, what with it being springtime and all, and  adarling friend loaned me a new shell to paint. Just beautiful.

So recently a small creature in my yard startled me while I was working in the garden. After consulting with The Internet, it was decided that it was most likely a very rare cockamouse.
