This is not the painting I planned at all, but my little one just turned six and is thinking about cutting her pigtails off, and I wound up painting her in profile and making it all about her hair and her little baby face. And the glow all around her.

Naomi watched Totoro for the first time this week, and I had some variegated grey yarn on hand that wanted to be a extra-chunky-knit Thing so I made them while watching Totoro this week.
