Dancer

sold

Tried something different here, black inkwashes to build up the whole painting and then going very lightly over it all with the colors. Love the effect,

Polka Dots

More cuteness, inspired by the kidlet. My favorite animal when I was her age was a giraffe too.

And here is..... adorable proof that having a kidlet definitely influences your subject matter when it comes to painting.

Professor Cthulhu

11"x14"
sold

I, um.... may have just painted Cthulhu with freckles and wearing a bow tie and watch chain. Lol. Do you think I ought to hang his portrait next to the one of his daughter?

Mother and Child

5"x7"

Just a strange little sketch- the way the hair whorls around on their faces, the horns, the calf's little tongue.

Halo

12"x12"

This is not the painting I planned at all, but my little one just turned six and is thinking about cutting her pigtails off, and I wound up painting her in profile and making it all about her hair and her little baby face. And the glow all around her.

In Front of the Light

5"x7"

This is an interesting one, what with trying to make the water very flowy and transparent, and the fish very opaque. Thankfully the fish was a very cooperative model!

Pink Rose

A portrait of a lady. There we go, all back to normal.

.... and then this happened.

Not paintings, I know. But they exist, and since we're suffering from an excess of yarnwear due to my and my creativity, they're available! Naomi watched Totoro for the first time this week, and I had some variegated grey yarn on hand that wanted to be a extra-chunky-knit Thing so I made them while watching Totoro this week.

This was entirely too much fun to paint. Just so interesting. Although I do sometimes wish I could just get my mind going in one direction for five sequential minutes please....

The Call of the Sea

 12"x12"

Experimenting with a painting that I love that didn't sell right away.... just wanted to see where she would go, and it's a totally different feeling now, all dissolving and floaty!
