Just realized I should've painted a pumpkin or something like that.... but I'm enjoying this little egg so much I don't care. I LOVE how doing daily paintings encourages me to experiment with composition and color like this!
I had so much fun with this one! I think a wash of Van Dyke Brown might be one of my new favorite things- I tried it with Gentleman Rat and thought I'd bring it over to the daily painting realm with this one :)
Wonder if a PAINTING of garlic would ward off vampires? What do you think? lol....
Another egg! Actually, I take that back- it's the same egg. The same reference photo of the same egg, even. Just with a very different crop- for some reason I wanted to paint just the relfection :)
Also, for all of you affected by Sandy- stay safe, and stay warm. Hugs to all of you.
Something for Whimsical Women again :) Isn't he a trip? I love doing these anthropomorphic animals! And it makes me so happy that I just got a TON of canvases in the mail so I can get all these ideas out into reality!

Yep, you've seen this one before.... my new canvases just got in today, hopefully there will be new stuff soon :)
But look! Pretty shiny thing! And there's more inclusions in the glass, and more detail in the shadow and the highlight....

If you're thinking that this one looks familiar... well, you're right! I ran out of daily-sized canvases last weekend, which explains why I've been working on paper, and now I'm going back into finished dailies and adding details and punching up colors and such :)
Not to worry, more canvases should be arriving soon! Gas is just too stinking expensive to drive out to Raleigh, but Jerry's had a free shipping deal this weekend :D

I decided to revisit this little painting, just to punch up the colors and add some fun little details.... shiny things are so much fun to paint :)
Now I've got to run, because the Tiny Human is suddenly very very fussy. Hope you're all having a wonderful night!

Something fun and sweet, inspired by one of the little girls in Naomi's dance class. The spend a little time every week running around with little transparent scarves :)

Something I did for Whimsical Women, but I'm sharing some of them a few weeks early :) The Fall Show is in Winston Salem on November 17th, so it is coming up fast.... I always have SO much fun getting ready for this show!

You might remember this one, from May when I went up for the Old Louisville Springfest... looking forward to doing it again, for sure.... well, I did a bit of polishing and reworking, and thought I would share again, even though it is abysmally seasonally inappropriate. Bring a little summertime up in here :)
So sorry! It turns out that the Tiny Princess and I have mono, so I guess it's a good excuse... but still, I vow to do better! Hopefully posting some recent works in progress will appease you, my dear readers... and hopefully it won't start the usual shared-WIP-hex on the poor paintings :)
This is a reworking of a daily from a little while back... I did it all rough edged and "sketchy" at first, but apparently I like that look more than you wonderful collectors do :) So now it looks all nice and finished, and of course has just a bit more detail and light in it.
